DAY TRIP IDEAS OPTION ONE: STARTING FROM AUCKLAND: 1—Morning tea at either Helensville, Albany Olive Press, or DD’s Country Cafe 2– Drive to Kaukapakapa, and check out the historic buildings and churches 3—Bring a picnic lunch, and have lunch at Kaipara Coast Plant Centre & Sculpture Gardens 4—Drive to Omeru Reserve, and have a walk and a swim in the reserve 5—Return to Kaukapakapa and have an Icecream at the Dairy, Fish & Chips at the Old Garage, or a meal at De Hot Bar and Grill at the Kaukapakapa Hotel. OPTION TWO: STARTING FROM AUCKLAND: 1— Walk around Kaipara Coast Plant Centre & Sculpture Gardens in the morning 2—Do a either a Kayak Trip on the Hoteo River with wild west kayaks (bookings essential), or, take the family for a pony ride with M&G Miniatures (bookings essential), or, take the family for a farm tour at the Kauri Villa (bookings essential). 3—Return to Kaukapakapa and have an Icecream at the Dairy, Fish & Chips at the Old Garage, or a meal at De Hot Bar and Grill at the Kaukapakapa Hotel.
